So my husband is always telling me I should be a critique....mostly because I look at EVERYTHING and always have something to say. So I am going to try to write a review for everywhere I go ( or at least try to) from now until the end of the summer. Something like a personal experiment crossed with a seemingly self involved notion that someone will care about what I have to say ( I mean I look up every possible review for everything from restaurants to hotels before I make a decision, client feedback is really important to me). Though I love parties and weddings in particular there are so many things that interest me. In this day and current economic climate I think it is important to keep your options open. So many times traditional wedding venues can be replaced with nice and spacious restaurants or event spaces where you can truly have a unique experience.
Not sure what I will review first, but be on the lookout.

Baby Birthday Theme, Circus Party !
Here is the invitation we used, which I loved ! Totally set the tone for a Circus themed Birthday.

And here are some snapshots from the party.
I had a lot of fun making the animal themed cupcakes.

Best places 2009 continued...

For my number # 3: Boracay, the Philippines
NYT is calling it the new Phuket !! 4 miles of lush sand and beautiful waves.
One of the new hotels opening is the Shangri-la hotel which features a 61,000 sq feet spa ! Talk about space to relax !
Some other popular places to stay are Dave's Straw Hat Inn and Boracay Hills.

We are back.... Early !
So I am officially back and 2 days early ! Though all this snow leaves me with the strong desire to curl up under the covers, instead I am already dreaming of all the places I want to visit in this new year.
Today's New York Times Travel edition lists the 44 places to go in 2009. And what is number 1?
Since I love to travel and I love weddings here are my picks for honeymoon worthy picks from 2-44 of the NYT list.
1- ( #3) The Galapagos : Not only is this an eco-friendly destination, but this year (2009) marks the 200th anniversary of the birth of Charles Darwin and the 150th anniversary of " The Origin of Species" , the book that was inspired by his travels in the region. Check out the Red Mangrove Isabela Lodge which is right on the beach and small enough to maintain your privacy.
2- ( #6) Fjallnas-Sweden : not every honeymoon destination has to be on a beach. If your up for adventure try the fjallnas reserve a 19th century resort in the Swedish hinterlands. They feature tundra-chic suites ( not quite sure what that means but it sounds fun) on a $1,700 acre complex.
to be continued...

New Haven CT Wedding
I recently had the great fortune of performing as the wedding coordinator for K and D in CT. Here are some teaser pics of their gorgeous wedding. It was so much fun ! She had some really fun ideas and everything went off without a hitch !
I was happy to be a part of her special day. Hit me up via email for reviews on Amarantes by the Sea and some of her other vendors.

Jewelry...good for more than the Holidays...
Great finds at BR ( Banana Republic ).
Awesome bridesmaids gift. Always remind them of how much they mean to you. L.O.V.E charm necklace retailing for $49. Too cute !
Totally cute bracelet for only $49 ! Maybe not necessarily for the big day but a good option for all the parties in between.
I kind of like this one for bridesmaids bouquets or a really chic hostess gift, or a bridemaids gift or a moms gift... the possibilities are endless...
